First of all, WOW, it's been a while. Sorry gang. The demands of my new job are sucking up more energy than I thought they would. I hope to get better able to grasp some time to make sure I keep up the posting.
Have stumbled upon an interesting event taking place in Brooklyn this weekend - the Renegade Craft Fair. These creative fairs featuring everything homemade, are held 4 times a year in Brooklyn, Chicago and San Francisco.
There is an extensive vendor list of literally hundreds of highly creative and often quirky crafters.
Here are just a few that represent quite a range of tastes (sometimes literally) with delicious, funky, kitsch and cool:
Here are just a few that represent quite a range of tastes (sometimes literally) with delicious, funky, kitsch and cool:
Biggs & Featherbelle - health conscious body care products
Bright Lights Little City - tacky, but kind of scary interesting . . . lamps and light fixtures made from those little exotic drink umbrellas!
The Small Object - funky rubber stamp collections
Wheelhouse Pickles - NY's own yummy pickle. Check out the website.
The event takes place at the McCarren Park Pool this coming weekend - June 14 & 15.
I'm going to try and go!

Bloglines is acting up because this just popped up today (June 20). I went to the Renegade Craft Fair a couple years ago and it is a fun time with lots of cool stuff to buy.
Sweet memories of McCarren Park. We used to visit the farmer market in McCarren Park when we lived a few miles away.
